Breaking the Glass Ceiling at ACTEC

Washington, DC – March 8, 2022:  In honor of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) released the video Breaking the Glass Ceiling at ACTEC, offering an inside look at how women can lead the charge of enabling an established professional organization to become more inclusive and diverse.

ACTEC Fellow Cynthia Lamar-Hart, chair of the ACTEC Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity Committee, moderates a discussion between women who broke the glass ceiling within ACTEC. She is joined by ACTEC Fellows Rhonda H. Brink, who in 1985 – a time where women comprised only 3.2% of ACTEC Fellows – became the first female elected from the state of Texas; Carlyn S. McCaffrey, who in 2002 was the second female elected president of the College; and current ACTEC President Ann B. Burns, who in 2021 was elected ACTEC’s 9^th female president. Our esteemed panel share their individual paths to leadership and offer advice to women wishing to excel as leaders and continue The College’s efforts in increasing diversity and inclusion.
