ACTEC Elects 32 New Fellows to The College

Washington, DC–October 16, 2024: The Board of Regents of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) convened during the College’s 2024 Fall Meeting, September 19-22, in Chicago, Illinois, to consider nominations for a new class of ACTEC Fellows. The College is pleased to announce that 32 individuals were elected, including one Academic Fellow, two International Fellows from Canada, one International Fellow from India, and one International Fellow from the United Kingdom. Seven newly elected Fellows are graduates of an ACTEC Fellows Institute, and one is a Dennis I. Belcher Young Leader.
ACTEC President Susan D. Snyder states, “I am pleased to welcome our New Fellows elected at the 2024 Fall Meeting in Chicago. These experienced trust and estate attorneys bring a wealth of expertise to ACTEC, and I look forward to their contributions as Fellows. I extend a special welcome to our Academic Fellow, whose research and thought leadership will continue ACTEC’s scholarly foundation. Our four International Fellows’ diverse perspectives and global experience will further enrich the College, and our Dennis I. Belcher Young Leader and ACTEC Fellows Institute graduates will share the knowledge they gained through these programs and contribute to ACTEC’s mission and the growth of the trust and estate field.”
To qualify for membership, a lawyer must have at least ten years of experience in the active practice of trust and estate law, or as fiduciary counsel with a fiduciary services company, or a combination thereof. Lawyers and law professors are elected to be Fellows based on their outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching, and participating in bar leadership or legislative activities. ACTEC Fellows aim to improve and reform probate, trust, and tax laws, as well as legal procedures and professional responsibility within the trust and estate practice.
