ACTEC Elects 32 New Fellows to the College

The College is pleased to announce that 32 individuals were elected. This select group spans the US and includes six international Fellows representing Hamilton, Bermuda; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Milan, Italy; Zurich, Switzerland; and Tel Aviv, as well as one Academic Fellow.

The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel Elects 42 New Fellows

The ACTEC Board of Regents convened during the College’s Fall Meeting in Philadelphia, PA to consider nominations for a new class of Fellows. The College is pleased to announce that 42 individuals were elected. This select group spans the US and includes four international Fellows representing Toronto, Montreal, London and Tel Aviv.

Supreme Court Rules in Trust Tax Case Following Amicus Brief Filed by The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

The United States Supreme Court today ruled in a unanimous opinion against North Carolina in a trust tax case. The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) filed an influential amicus brief in March, The North Carolina Department of Revenue v. The Kimberly Rice Kaestner 1992 Family Trust. The Supreme Court decision determined that a trust beneficiary’s residence in a state does not establish a necessary connection for the state to tax the trust.
